Scribus for all intents and purposes, is designed to fulfil the same role as Adobe InDesign, and can be used for all kinds of different purposes from creating and laying out magazine or newspaper pieces, to creating a not-a-boring-word-document-resume for finding employment, or even business cards or comic strips. It has got a well-designed interface, with an Intuitive user interactivity. Scribus doesn't offer cloud storage and you'll be on your own with learning how to use the features. InDesign is perfectly suitable for designing user manuals that require Arabic page numerals in the foreword and Roman letter page numbering in chapters.
